We love it when the flowers grow in the garden and they attract the bees. So, our craft today is to show you how to make a bumblebee craft, using an egg carton.
Children of any age can have a go at this craft and can be used for when your reading a book, we read Willbee the bumblebee, “With his new jersey on, he got back his hum, all his bits were warmed up… even his bum!” Willbee the bumblebee is so embarrassed when he realises that his stripy jumper has caught on a rose thorn and completely unravelled, showing his bare bum! With help from Monica the butterfly and Steve the spider, Willbee recovers his jumper and is back to buzzing around the garden in no time. This inspired us to make this craft. Children can use the bee to play with or as a game.
Learning at crafting
Every craft children make, learning can be introduced into a learning craft, without a child even knowing that they are even doing it. Children will use hand and eye coordination action, learn colours and be able to count objects that are used in every craft.
We have a great printable for children who are starting school. Alphabet phonics colouring sheets, phonics made easy for children.

Cut two black small strips of pipe cleaners and cut enough of the yellow pipe cleaner to make a bow. On the top of the bee make two small holes and feed the black pipe cleaner through them, holding it down with tape or tie a small knot on each end to stop it coming through. Make a small bow and the strands that are left down need to be fed through a small hole at the back of the bee.
